How did you end up on the Côte d’Azur?

I arrived on the Côte d’Azur through a meeting in Prague.

Tell us something about yourself/an unpublished tidbit that not many people know/are aware of.

I fell in love when I did my first Via Ferrata in the region, where my vertigo and fear of heights made me decide to climb a big rock wall. I was so scared that I strongly considered having a helicopter come and save me, because I thought it was my last day in this world! The person who came to save me, in a completely unconscious state, has become one of my most beautiful encounters and I’m very grateful for that.

What’s your favourite walk/outing in the region?

My favourite walk is the Sentier panoramique du Littoral in Antibes, which runs along the rocky coast with several swimming and picnic spots. I know it by heart! I also really enjoy the hikes in the Esterel region, such as Pic de l’Ours, Pic du Cap Roux and others further afield. The main thing is to have good shoes and to be well accompanied. In that case, it’s often a great success.

Where is your favourite place to go to the beach?

Plage du Château or Plage de l’Aiguille at Théoule-sur-Mer as far as sandy beaches are concerned, otherwise, the wild beaches in the Calanques after the village of Trayas.

What’s the best ski resort in the area?

My favourite places to go are Auron or La Foux d’Allos with friends or family, because they’re sunny, quiet resorts. Further afield, I really enjoy going to the Alpes d’Huez.

If you had to choose one place on the Côte d ́Azur, which would it be?

I really like where I live, close to the village of Valbonne, because I come from a small town surrounded by nature, and the landscape as well as the ease of walking around without travelling by car suit me perfectly.
