The Gorges du Verdon, Europe’s downscaled version of Grand Canyon, is situated 30 minutes north of Draguignan. This beautiful and dramatic scenery of mountains and deep valleys is a must see. The river Verdon pours its waters in the turquoise lac Ste-Croix. It is incredibly beautiful and well worth paying a visit.
Around Gorges du Verdon you will find the villages Bauduen, les Salles-sur-Verdon and Sainte Croix. The amazing village Moustiers is known for its stunning hand-painted porcelain. All these villages are proximate to nice beaches along the lake.
The Nice and Toulon airports are approximately one hour from Draguignan, while it takes about one and a half hour to Marseille airport. The high-speed train TGV runs to and from Les Arcs.
