St-Tropez is the old fishing village that became one of the most popular places on the French Riviera with its marvelous beaches, crystal clear waters, great nightlife, trendy jetsetters and some of the world’s largest yachts.
Sainte Maxime is a little calmer and is situated on the opposite side of the St Tropez bay. The Swedish Royal family owns a summer residence here. Beautiful luxury residential areas such as La Nartelle and Les Issambres are situated to the east of Sainte-Maxime.
In the St-Tropez bay you can also visit the charming village of Grimaud and its famous harbour, nicknamed the French Venise. Other villages in the neighbourhood include Cogolin, Gassin and Ramatuelle. The area’s landscape consists of hills offering stunning views and also numerous vineyards further back.
St-Tropez is located approximately one and a half hour from Nice airport. During the summer season this journey can take a lot longer, so the ferries to and from Sainte-Maxime and Cannes are a good alternative.
